Warrant Squad Arrests First Degree Assault Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Monday of Ramon Ruano on a First Degree Assault warrant obtained by County Police, District I detectives on June 2, 2012.

According to the warrant, on May 21, 2012, in the 7900 block of 14th Avenue in Hyattsville, MD, Ruano’s vehicle struck another vehicle causing a traffic collision in which he refused to stop. When both vehicles did eventually stop, at 14th Avenue and University Boulevard, a physical altercation ensued between parties of both vehicles in which Ruano is alleged to have hit another male –not indicated as the other driver - with a baseball bat.

Deputies investigating Ruano’s whereabouts were led to the 7000 block of 23rd Avenue in Hyattsville, MD where Ruano was located and taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Correctional Center where he is being held. District I detectives were notified of the arrest.

In addition to First Degree Assault, Ruano is also charged with three counts of Second Degree Assault.
