Domestic Violence Squad Arrests D.C. Robbery Suspect on Domestic Call


Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Prince George’s County Domestic Violence Intervention Division (DVID) reported the arrest yesterday of Joseph Hampton on a Robbery warrant obtained by the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) on August 8, 2012.

DVID deputies responded to the 1900 block of Brooks Drive in Capitol Heights, Maryland for a domestic dispute. Deputies made contact with both parties, and initiated a routine warrant check through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) which revealed Hampton had an active warrant through MPD.  Hampton was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Correctional Center where he is being held. MPD was notified of his arrest.

Subsequent investigations revealed Hampton also had a traffic warrant through Prince George’s County, MD for Driving on a Suspended License.

Hampton will appear in District Court for his motor vehicle violation prior to being extradited to the District of Columbia for the Robbery charge.
