Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Felony Burglary Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Wednesday of George Rivers on a First Degree Burglary warrant obtained by the Greenbelt Police Department (GPD) on August 1, 2012.

According to the warrant, Rivers stole 3 LCD televisions and a video game console from a residence in the 9100 block of Edmonston Ct. in Greenbelt, MD. A further investigation by the GPD and the Prince George’s County Police Pawn Unit determined that Rivers allegedly pawned the items at various pawn shops throughout Prince George’s County, MD.

Deputies investigating Rivers’ whereabouts were led to a residence in the 5700 block of 64th pl. in Riverdale, MD, where he was located and apprehended without incident.

Detectives from the GPD were notified of Rivers’ arrest and he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections where he was later released on bond. Rivers is charged with First Degree Burglary and Theft under $1000.00.
