MPD assists Warrant Squad in the Arrest of Armed Robbery Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest yesterday of Howard Wilder Jr. on an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery, obtained by County Police District IV detectives on September 2, 2012.

According to the warrant, Wilder and another suspect used a knife to assault and commit robbery on a male victim in the 3200 block of Branch Avenue, Temple Hills, MD. The warrant further states that they stole approximately $300.00 worth of property from the victim before fleeing the scene.

Deputies investigating Wilder’s whereabouts were led to Wilder’s place of employment in Northwest, Washington D.C., where the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) assisted in taking Wilder into custody. Wilder was transported to the Central Detention Facility, in Washington D.C., where he will be charged as a fugitive from Prince George’s County, Maryland.

District IV detectives were notified of his arrest. Wilder is also charged with Second Degree Assault and Robbery.
