Chief Assistant Sheriff Palmer Continues “Teddy Bear” Partnership

Colonel Darrin C. Palmer, Chief Assistant Sheriff, accepted nearly 100 teddy bears from members of “Leadership Prince George’s,” at the organization’s annual Alumni Christmas Party, last Thursday at “Busboys and Poets” in New Carrolton, MD.
This is the second year that Leadership Prince George’s has partnered with the Sheriff’s Office to provide teddy bears, which are given to small children by deputy sheriffs, while at the scene of domestic violence calls for service. The partnership with Leadership Prince George’s is in addition to the partnership Colonel Palmer nourished with the Prince George’s Chapter of the National  Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA),which donated over 100 teddy bears to the Sheriff’s Office in November.
Colonel Palmer, a graduate of Leadership Prince George’s said, “These teddy bears can be a great help in bringing comfort and a sense of normalcy to a chaotic situation.”
For more information on the teddy bear partnership contact the Sheriff's Press Office at 301-780-2773.
