Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Vehicular Manslaughter Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Tuesday of Michael O’Connor on an arrest warrant for Vehicular Manslaughter, issued by the Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, MD, on January 23, 2013. 

According to court documents, O’Connor was indicted by a Prince George’s County Grand Jury for a June 24, 2012, Vehicular Manslaughter in College Park, MD. According to the police report, Bernard Coatley Jr. was killed after the vehicle he was operating was struck as he attempted to make a left turn from Delaware St. in College Park, MD. An investigation revealed that O’Connor was the operator of the striking vehicle in the collision.

Deputies investigating the whereabouts of O’Connor were led to an address in the 5100 block of Iroquois St. in College Park, MD, where he was located and apprehended without incident.

The Circuit Court for Prince George’s County, MD, was notified of O’Connor’s arrest and he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with Vehicular Manslaughter, Vehicular Homicide, Driving Under the Influence, Reckless and Negligent Driving, and Speeding.

Deputies Arrest Felony Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Monday of Andre Miller, on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by Sheriff’s Domestic Violence Intervention Division deputies on December 22, 2012.

According to the warrant, Miller was involved in a verbal dispute with his wife on December 22, 2012, in the 6900 block of Forest Terr. in Landover, MD. Following the verbal dispute, Miller threatened to kill his wife and attempted to stab her with a pocket knife, before fleeing the scene.

Deputies met with the victim, completed a Domestic Violence Lethality Screening, and determined that she was at “high risk” for further instances of domestic violence. Based on the investigation, deputies sought assault charges against Miller, and referred the victim to Sheriff’s Domestic Violence Advocates for further assistance.

After several unsuccessful attempts at locating Miller, deputies investigating his whereabouts were led to the 6900 block of Forest Terr. in Landover, MD, where he was apprehended without incident.

The Sheriff’s Domestic Violence Intervention Division was notified Miller’s arrest, and he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with First and Second Degree Assault.

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest First Degree Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Monday of Emmanuel Adegoke on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault, obtained by County Police District V detectives on January 29, 2013.

According to the warrant, Adegoke assaulted a female victim on January 20, 2013, at a residence in the 9600 block of Marilyn Ivy Ct. in Upper Marlboro, MD. Adegoke allegedly choked and punched the victim, before chasing her around the residence with a knife. The victim was able to escape the residence and contact police, and Adegoke fled the scene.

Deputies investigating Adegoke’s whereabouts were led to 100 block of Independence Ave. in Washington, D.C., where he was located and apprehended without incident.

District V detectives were notified of Adegoke’s arrest and he was transported to the D.C. Department of Corrections – charged as a fugitive for Prince George’s County, MD.

Warrant Division Arrests two Attempted First Degree Murder Suspects


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Monday of Jose Rodas-Alvarado and Roni Arriola-Palma on Attempted First Degree Murder arrest warrants, obtained by County Police, District I detectives.

According to the warrant, on January 14, 2011, Rodas-Alvarado and Arriola-Palma along with two other unidentified men attacked and forced a male victim into a minivan before physically assaulting him while in the 5800 block of 10th Place in Hyattsville, MD. The four suspects allegedly undressed and threw the male victim from the van, dragging him into a wooded area, where they began stabbing him with knives. All four suspects subsequently fled the scene. The police investigation also determined that all suspects are believed to be members of the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) gang.

Deputies investigating the whereabouts of Rodas-Alvarado and Arriola-Palma were led to the 6000 block of 20th Avenue in Hyattsville, MD where Rodas-Alvarado was taken into custody and transported to the County Police Criminal Investigations Division (CID). 

Deputies located Arriola-Prima in the 1800 block of L Street N.W. Washington D.C where he was taken into custody after a brief foot chase. He was transported to the District of Columbia Department of Corrections, where he will await extradition to Prince George’s County, MD.


Both Rodas-Alvardo and Arriola-Prima are charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, Kidnapping, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, and Theft: Less than $1,000.00 and Reckless Endangerment.

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Wednesday of Andre Hamilton on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder, obtained by officers from the City of New Carrollton Police Department on December 6, 2012.

According to the warrant, Hamilton accosted a male victim on November 28, 2012, in the 5400 block of 85th Avenue in New Carrollton  MD. According to witnesses, Hamilton used a handgun to shoot the victim three times, before fleeing the scene.

Deputies investigating Hamilton’s whereabouts were led to the 1500 block of Chillum Rd. in Chillum, MD, where he was located and arrested without incident.

The New Carrollton Police Department was notified of Hamilton’s arrest and he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with Attempted First Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Violent Crime and Reckless Endangerment.

Deputies/U.S. Marshals Assist North Carolina Authorities with Arrest of Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Paul Laurence Carter Jr. on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder, obtained by the Rocky Mount Police Department (RMPD), Rocky Mount, NC, on November 30, 2012.
 
According to the warrant, Carter shot a male victim on November 28, 2012. Officers from the RMPD contacted warrant deputies with evidence that Carter might be residing in Prince George’s County, MD. Deputies, with the assistance of the U.S. Marshal’s Warrant Task Force, located Carter in the 9500 block of Muirkirk Rd. in Laurel, MD, and apprehended him without incident.

RMPD officers were notified of Carter’s arrest and he was transported to the Prince George’s County Detention Center – charged as a Fugitive for Attempted First Degree Murder.

Deputies Arrest Felony Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest yesterday of Gustavo Ramirez on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault, obtained by County Police District I detectives on September 3, 2012.

According to the warrant, Ramirez was involved in an altercation with a male victim on August 26, 2012, in the 5500 block of Kenilworth Avenue in Riverdale, MD. Ramirez allegedly struck the victim several times with a crowbar, causing multiple injuries.

Deputies investigating the whereabouts of Ramirez were led to the 5900 block of 66th Avenue in Riverdale, MD, where he was located and apprehended without incident.

District I detectives were notified of the arrest and Ramirez was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with First and Second Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.

Warrant Division Arrests 1st Degree Assault Suspect



Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest yesterday of Alvaro Turjillo on a First Degree Assault warrant obtained by County Police District I detectives on November 29, 2012.

According to the warrant, on November 10, 2012 Trujillo allegedly forced his way into an ex-girlfriend’s home in the 4400 block of 40th Street in Hyattsville, MD by shattering a front bedroom window. The warrant further states that Trujillo kicked in a bathroom door to gain access to the ex-girlfriend and another woman, and that he assaulted the two before fleeing the home.

Deputies investigating Trujillo’s whereabouts were led to the 5000 block of Rhode Island Ave in Hyattsville, MD where Trujillo was located and arrested without incident. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections where he is being held. District I detectives were notified of the arrest.

Trujillo is also charged with First Degree Burglary, Second Degree Assault, two counts of Malicious Destruction of Property, and Reckless Endangerment.

Deputies Investigation leads to surrender of Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the surrender Tuesday of Marcus C. Evans on an arrest warrant for Attempted Murder, obtained by County Police District IV detectives on December 12, 2012.

According to the warrant, Evans was in the 4300 block of 23rd Place in Temple Hills, MD, on December 11, 2012, when he pointed a gun at a male victim and demanded his shoes. The victim attempted to fight off the attack before being shot by Evans, subsequently having his shoes stolen. 

Deputies investigating Evans’ whereabouts conducted several interviews of witnesses and checked several residences throughout Washington, D.C. and Prince George’s County. Deputies also communicated with several associates and family members of Evans, and eventually negotiated his surrender to County Police District IV detectives on Tuesday.

Evans is charged with First and Second Degree Attempted Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Use of a Handgun in Commission of a Felony Crime, Armed Robbery and Robbery.

Deputies Arrest Felony Burglary Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest yesterday of Mark Atuonah on an arrest warrant for First Degree Burglary, obtained by County Police District II detectives on December 26, 2012.

According to the warrant, Atuonah broke into a residence in the 6600 block of 97th Avenue in Lanham, MD, and stole a Nintendo Wii video gaming system, two laptop computers, various items of sports memorabilia, a computer hard drive and $600.00 in U.S. currency. A subsequent police investigation led to a search warrant being served on Atuonah’s residence in Lanham, MD, where he was located with the Nintendo Wii. Detectives subsequently obtained a warrant for his arrest.

Deputies investigating the whereabouts of Atuonah were led to a residence in the 6500 block of 97th Avenue in Lanham, MD, where he was located and apprehended.

Detectives were notified of the arrest and Atuonah was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with First Degree Burglary, Misdemeanor theft and Malicious Destruction of Property.

Warrant Division Arrests 1st Degree Attempted Murder Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest last Thursday of Lonell Bowen, on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by the County Police (PGPD) Criminal Investigations Division (CID) on December 31, 2012.

According to the warrant, on December 29th, Bowen attended a dance in the 3800 block of Penn Belt Place in Forestville, MD where he and an associate engaged in an argument that turned physical, over a missing coat. Bowen is alleged to have retrieved a handgun, which he fired, striking three victims before fleeing the party.

Deputies investigating Bowen’s whereabouts observed him at a location in the 2700 block of Lorring Drive in Forestville, MD. When Deputies made their approach, Bowen and another male fled on foot. A brief chase ensued resulting in the two individuals being stopped. Bowen was positively identified and taken into custody.

The second person, identified as Anthony Ross was found to have three outstanding warrants; two for Failure to Appear – Trespassing on Private Property and Controlled Dangerous Substance Possession of Marijuana and one warrant for Trespassing on Posted Property. He was taken into custody; both he and Bowen were transported to CID detectives.

Bowen is also charged with two additional counts of Attempted First Degree Murder, three counts of Attempted Second Degree Murder, three counts of First Degree Assault, Firearm use during a Felonious crime, and Handgun on Person.

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Felony Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Wednesday of Ronald W. Morgan, on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by County Police District III detectives on December 27, 2012.

According to the warrant, Morgan and two other suspects attempted to commit an armed robbery on September 22, 2012, in a parking lot in the 2300 block of Brightseat Rd, Landover, MD. As the three suspects approached the victims while they were sitting in a vehicle, Morgan retrieved a sawed off shotgun from his pants and announced the robbery.

The warrant further states that one of the victims attempted to wrestle the shotgun away from Morgan, prompting the other two suspects to open fire into the victim’s vehicle. Both victims escaped injury and managed to get the gun away from Morgan, before all three suspects fled the scene on foot.

Deputies investigating Morgan’s whereabouts were led to the 4200 block of 58th Ave. in Bladensburg, MD, where they located and apprehended him without incident.

District III detectives were notified of the arrest and Morgan was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with First and Second Degree Assault, Use of a Firearm in the Commission of a Violent Crime, Unregistered Shotgun, Armed Robbery, Robbery, Theft and Reckless Endangerment.

Warrant Deputies Arrest Burglary Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Wednesday of Nicholas E. Scott, on an arrest warrant for First Degree Burglary obtained by the City of Bowie Police Department (CBPD) on December 20, 2012.
 
According to the warrant, Scott broke into a residence on May 2, 2012, in the 14000 block of Darbydale Ln. in Bowie, MD. Scott allegedly stole a laptop computer, later found to be pawned at a shop in Landover, MD. A CBPD investigation of the pawnshop records determined that the laptop had been pawned by Scott on May 14, 2012.

Deputies investigating Scott’s whereabouts were led to a location in the 3300 block of Kenilworth Ave. in Bladensburg, MD, where he was located and apprehended without incident.

CBPD detectives were notified of the arrest and Scott was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with First Degree Burglary, Malicious Destruction of Property and Misdemeanor Theft.

Deputies Arrest Felony Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Monday of Ignacio Gomez on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by the Bladensburg Police Department (BPD) on December 20, 2012.

According to the warrant, Gomez used a vehicle to assault a female victim on December 19, 2012, in the 4200 block of 58th Ave, Bladensburg, MD. The victim, who was five months pregnant, sustained multiple injuries as a result of being pulled alongside the vehicle that Gomez was operating.

Deputies investigating the whereabouts of Gomez were led to the 6200 block of Crain Hwy. in Bowie, MD, where he was located and apprehended without incident.

The BPD was notified of the arrest and Gomez was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with First and Second degree assault.
