Child Support Deputies Scale Fence to Apprehend Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Child Support Enforcement Division reported the arrest last Thursday of Joseph Jones for three outstanding Child Support Writs issued on June 5, 2013. According to the Child Support Enforcement Administration Jones owes $101,835.93 in back child support in three cases.

After several attempts of locating Jones at an address listed on the warrant that was later determined to be vacant, Deputies investigating his whereabouts were led to a residence in the 1700 block of Village Green Drive in Landover, MD where they were invited in by an adult female. Deputies observed Jones in the backyard of the residence and attempted to apprehend him. Jones fled on foot, jumped over a barbed wire fence and ran into a wooded area behind the home. Deputies pursued and apprehended Jones in the 7200 block of Martin Luther King Highway in Landover, MD.

Jones was transported to the Prince George’s County Hospital Center for lacerations to his chest and left hand from the barbed wire fence, after which he was treated and released. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
