Deputies Arrest Forestville Woman for Attempted Murder

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Domestic Violence Intervention Division reported the arrest Saturday of Charnell Francise Gant for Attempted First Degree Murder which occurred in Forestville, MD on July 6, 2013.

Sheriff’s deputies responded to a 911 call for assistance at a residence in the 6500 block of Hilmar Dr., when they observed a male victim suffering from a laceration to his lower right abdomen. The victim told deputies that Charnell Gant stabbed him with a butcher-styled knife following a verbal dispute. Deputies contacted Fire/EMS personnel to assist the victim with his injuries. Following an on-scene investigation, deputies placed Gant under arrest, charging her with Attempted Murder. During the investigation, deputies recovered the knife used during the alleged incident hidden near a neighbor’s residence.

The victim was transported to Prince George’s Hospital for medical treatment and Gant was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections – charged with Attempted First Degree Murder.
