Deputies Extradite Two Attempted 1st Degree Murder Suspects

Upper Marlboro, MD…On February 17, 2014 Deputies of the Warrant/Fugitive Division extradited Rashad Wright and Vernon Clemmons from Georgia to Prince George’s County, MD both on Attempted First Degree Murder warrants obtained by County Police Detectives. The warrants were obtained in June 2013 and December 2013, respectively.

According to the arrest warrant for Wright, on June 22, 2013, Wright and two other males were sitting inside of a parked vehicle in the 1200 block of Elfin Avenue in Capitol Heights, MD when an argument ensued between Wright and one of the men in the car.  Wright allegedly produced a pocket knife and stabbed the victim in his neck and back when the victim attempted to exit the vehicle. Wright fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival.

Wright is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.

Vernon Clemmons
The warrant for Vernon Clemmons states that on December 6, 2013 Clemons is alleged to have shot at a vehicle that was occupied by three females in the 7600 block of Marlboro Pike in Forestville, MD. The warrant further indicates that the attack may have stemmed from an argument between Clemmons and one of the female victims.

Clemmons is facing additional charges of Attempted First Degree Murder, Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment and Firearm Use during a Felonious Violent Crime.
Wright and Clemmons were transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections where both are being held on a “No Bond” status.
