Upper Marlboro, MD…The
Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Markel Dinkins of
Hyattsville, MD on last Wednesday, on an arrest warrant for Robbery, which was
obtained by Riverdale Park Police Department on January 8, 2014.
According
to the warrant, on December 12, 2013, Dinkins allegedly exited a 2005 Silver
Chevy Impala and attacked a male victim from behind in the area of Taylor Road
and Tuckerman Street in Riverdale Park, MD. After taking the victim’s briefcase
and laptop, Dinkins fled on foot. The warrant further states that on December
21, 2013 a vehicle matching the description of the Impala, was stopped and one
of its occupants was identified as Markel Dinkins.
The
Warrant/ Fugitive Division’s investigation determined that Dinkins was located
in Washington, DC. With assistance from the Metropolitan Police Department he
was apprehended in the 2300 block of Ainger Place Washington DC., where he was
taken into custody. Dinkins was also charged with Assault Second Degree, and
two counts of Conspiracy Robbery.
