Suspect Arrested in a Theft Scheme for over $200,000


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/ Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Teresa Ross of Laurel, MD on an arrest warrant for Theft Scheme over $100,000 that was obtained by County Police on October 17th, 2014.

According to the warrant, during the time frame of July 21st thru September 17th, Ross, while working at the Sears in Annapolis MD made fraudulent credit card transactions in order to purchase televisions that were shipped to a location in the 400 block of Warfield Drive in Landover MD. The warrant further states that Ross and her co-defendant used their unique employee identification numbers to override declined transactions in order to earn commissions on fraudulent sales. Sears Loss prevention reported that the scheme resulted in theft valued at over $200,000 dollars.

Upon receipt of the warrant, Deputies’ investigation determined that Ross would likely be located at an address in the 14800 block of Bowie Road in Laurel, MD. In the morning on October 27th deputies went to the location and announced themselves, indicating that they had a warrant for Ross who was there but refused to open the door. Deputies used a key to gain entry to the apartment and Ross was taken into custody and transported to the Department of Corrections in Hyattsville MD for processing.

Ross is also being charged with Theft: $100,000 plus, Con-Theft Scheme $100,000 plus, and Conspire- Theft: $100,000 plus.
