Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO


Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests.

        First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Maurice Monroe of Southeast Washington D.C who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Assault-First Degree that was obtained by Prince George’s County Police on February 2nd, 2015.

According to the warrant, on December 13th, Monroe was in the 5300 block of Sheriff Road in Fairmont Heights, MD when he grabbed a victim from behind and threw her to the ground where she hit her head, rendering her unconscious. The warrant states that the victim was transported to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at a local hospital where she was diagnosed with serious injury to her skull and shoulder. On February 19th , members of the United States Marshals’ Fugitive Task Force to which a Sheriff’s deputy was assigned located Monroe in Washington D.C where he was taken into custody and transported to the Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) Fifth District Station for processing while awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County.

Monroe is also charged with Assault Second Degree and Reckless Endangerment.

1998 First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Manuel Garcia of Hyattsville, MD on an arrest warrant for Assault First Degree that was issued by Prince George’s County Police on November 9th, 1998. Deputies received updated information on Garcia, made contact with him and convinced him to meet and turn himself in at the Hyattsville Courthouse. Garcia was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections (DOC) for processing.

Garcia is also charged with Assault Second Degree, Assault-Reckless Endangerment, and Resisting Arrest.

Alert Sheriff Impersonator Phone Scam #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff’s Communications and Public Relations Division has received several calls from victims of a telephone scam called by someone claiming to be a representative of the Sheriff’s Office.

The scammer provides victims a fake phone number that appears to be from the Sheriff’s Office and urges victims to pay a fine in order to avoid arrest or legal action against them. The victims are told to go to a local convenience store to purchase a prepaid card in a specified amount.

Neither the Office of the Sheriff nor any other law enforcement agency makes phone calls for the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) or on behalf of the courts regarding jury duty.“On behalf of the Office of the Sheriff, we urge citizens who get these calls to not give the caller personal information or give them any money”, said Sharon Taylor the Director of Communications.  Please contact the Prince Georges County Police Criminal Investigations Division Financial Crimes unit at 301-772-4907 to file an incident report.

Suspect Arrested for Sex Offense #PGSO


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/ Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Jose Moreno-Cuellar of Gaithersburg, MD on an arrest warrant for Sex Offense Third Degree that was obtained by Prince George’s County Police on November 5th, 2014.


According to the warrant, during the month of August at a location in Beltsville, MD, Moreno-Cuellar engaged in sexual contact with a victim without consent who identified Moreno-Cuellar through photographs.

On January 29th, the Deputies’ received a call from the Police Department with a possible lead on Moreno-Cuellar whereabouts. Warrant deputies, along with members of the United States Marshals’ Capitol Area Fugitive Task Force, went to the location and Moreno-Cuellar was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Moreno-Cuellar is also charged with Assault Second Degree and Sex Offense Fourth Degree Sexual Contact.

MNADV Memorial Service Remembers the Lives Lost to Domestic Violence in Maryland

Upper Marlboro, MD... The Maryland Network Against Domestic Violence (MNADV) 27th Annual Memorial Ceremony to remember lives lost to domestic violence was attended by the Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff Domestic Violence Intervention Division (DVID) and our Special Victim Assistants (SVA) to remember those lost and to confirm that "Domestic Violence Has No Place in Our Community."

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO



Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests.


Robbery Suspect Arrested 

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Edwin Castellon of Riverdale, MD who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Robbery that was obtained by the City of Greenbelt Police on January 5th.

According to the warrant, on December 30th, Castellon was in the 6000 block of Springhill Drive in Greenbelt, MD where he approached a female asking to use her cell phone because he was locked out of the house. The warrant states that the female was making a call for Castellon when he snatched the phone from her and ran. Deputies took Castellon into custody without incident on February 3rd, after he appeared in court on other business. He was transported to the County Department of Corrections (DOC) for processing.

Castellon is also charged with Assault Second Degree and Theft less than $1,000.

                                                           Armed Carjacker Arrested 

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Matias Perez-Diaz of Riverdale, MD on an indictment for Armed Carjacking that was issued by the Circuit Court of Prince George’s County on January 29th.  Deputies located Perez-Diaz on 56th Place in Riverdale, MD.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the County Department of Corrections (DOC) for processing.

Perez-Diaz is also charged with Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Carjacking by Intimidation, Robbery with Dangerous Weapon, Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Injure, and Conspiracy-Armed Carjacking.

1st Degree Assault Suspect Arrested #PGSO


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/ Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Charles Bailey of Beltsville, MD on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault that was obtained by Prince George’s County Police on January 20th.



On January 8th, in the 4700 block of Cardinal Avenue in Beltsville, MD, Bailey was involved in an argument and the victim stated that “she woke up to a bloody face”. According to the warrant the victim had been assaulted while she was asleep and the officer observed several bruises, swelling and lacerations to her face. The warrant states that Bailey fled the location before the police arrived. The warrant further states that the victim was transported to a local hospital, where she was treated for her injuries.

Upon receiving the warrant on January 26th, the Deputies’ investigation determined that Bailey was still in the 4700 block of Cardinal Avenue in Beltsville, MD. When the warrant deputies went to the location and knocked on the door Bailey came to a window and identified himself. Bailey was persuaded to open the basement door and was taken into custody and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Bailey is also charged with Assault Second Degree.
