Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

First Degree Burglary Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nico Hamilton of Upper Marlboro, MD who was wanted on an arrest warrant for First Degree Burglary obtained by County Police on June 2, 2015.

According to the warrant, on May 13th, Hamilton was in the 6000 block of Wolverton Lane in Clinton, MD, where he allegedly broke in a victim’s house and stole three flat screen televisions, two PlayStation 4 game systems with games and four pairs of tennis shoes valued at 2,000.

On June 16th, Sheriff deputies located Hamilton in the 12000 block of Sand Wedge Lane in Upper Marlboro, MD. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections (DOC) for processing.

Hamilton is also charged with Malicious Destruction of Property, Theft 10,000 to under 100,000 and Burglary Fourth Degree.

                                                   Sex Abuse of a Minor Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Yalberto Juallem of Beltsville, MD on a warrant for Sex Abuse of a minor that was issued by the County Police on April 7, 2015.

According to the warrant, on August 5, 2014, in the 10000 block of Montgomery Road in Beltsville, MD, Juallem engaged in sexual contact with a minor. On June 19th, Juallem turned himself in at Sheriff’s Headquarters without incident and he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Juallem is also charged with Fourth Degree Sex Offense.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MDThe Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

Attempt Home Invasion Suspect Arrested
 
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Theo Rogers of Capitol Heights, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Attempt Home Invasion obtained by County Police on May 25, 2015.
According to the warrant, on May 27th, Rogers arrived in the 2000 block of Colebrooke Drive in Temple Hills, MD, and attempted to enter the residence of his ex-girlfriend. The warrant states that Rogers kicked the front door until it came off the hinges. Later that night, according to a witness Rogers allegedly stuck an object in the victims’ vehicle which immediately became engulfed in frames. Rogers fled the scene.
On May 27th, deputies’ investigation led them to believe that Rogers could be located at a residence in the 1700 block of Brightseat Road in Landover, MD. On a second attempt to locate him at that address, they saw Rogers walking through the complex.  He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the District IV Police station.
Rogers is also charged with Arson Second Degree (2x), Burglary First Degree, First Degree Malicious Burning (2x), Malicious Destruction of Property less than 1,000 (3x), Theft less than $1000, and Burglary Fourth Degree.

Armed Carjacking Suspect Arrested
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael West of Washington, DC on an arrest warrant for Armed Carjacking that was obtained by County Police on May 20, 2015.

According to the warrant, on May 13th, in the 5000 block of Cypress Creek Drive in Hyattsville, MD, West and another suspect are alleged to have approached a male victim exiting his vehicle, pointing a handgun at him and demanded his keys and money, after which they fled the scene in the victims’ vehicle.

The deputies went to a residence in the 200 block of Malcolm Ave in Washington, DC, where West was taken into custody without incident and transported to Metropolitan Police District IV station.
West is also charged with Armed Robbery, Firearm Use/ Felony Violent Crime, Handgun on Person, Handgun in Vehicle, Theft to 1,000 to 10,000, and Theft less than $1000.

Sheriff Melvin C. High Fifth Annual Scholarship Awards

Upper Marlboro, MD ... Sheriff Melvin C. High awarded scholarships to three Prince George’s County 2015 High School graduates during the fifth annual Sheriff Melvin C. High Scholarship Awards Reception, at the Sheriff’s Office Headquarters in Upper Marlboro, MD.
 
 
 
 
 
 
This year’s winners, who will begin college in the fall, are Milan Brown, a graduate of Eleanor Roosevelt High School who will attend Howard University, majoring in Chemical Engineering; Erika Johnson of Oxon Hill High School who will attend Alabama State University, majoring in Psychology; and Sabrina Towson of Crossland High School who will attend the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, majoring in Pre-Law & International Business.
 
Sheriff High personally funds the scholarships which he established when he took office. “I came from meager beginnings and the help of others encouraged me and set expectations for me. I promised to give back and with these scholarships, I also hope to encourage and set expectations for our scholars – expectations I know they can live up to,” said Sheriff High.

LTC. Regina Taylor, Field Operations Bureau Chief and administrator of the scholarship awards said that each of the recipients was highly acclaimed by faculty members and advisors from their respective high schools who described them as selfless, diligent, and gifted with enormous potential.
While their academic and extracurricular achievements varied, each of this year’s scholars is a member of the National Honor Society (NHS) whose members must maintain a cumulative grade point average of 85% or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale throughout their high school career.
   
“Each of our scholars plays a major part in our community and we are honored to enhance, encourage and motivate their success at this transformative time in their lives.” said Lt. Colonel Taylor.
