Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests: Sex Offense Suspect Arrested Sheriff’s deputies arrested Jonathan Garrett of Oxon Hill, MD on a warrant for Second Degree Sex Offense that was obtained by the County Police on February 10, 2017.

According to the warrant, during the months June 2016 to October 2016, at a residence in Oxon Hill, MD, Garrett engaged in sexual contact with a minor.

On February 22, 2017, Warrant/Fugitive Division Deputies located Garrett at the address of the incident where they were allowed entry. Garrett was arrested and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Garrett is also charged with Third Offense Degree Assault, Sex Abuse of a Minor, and Second Degree Assault.

Sex Offense Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Olawale Abu of Upper Marlboro, MD on a warrant for Second Degree Sex Offense that was obtained by the County Police on February 03, 2017.

According to the warrant, from June 2015 through October 2016, at an address in Upper Marlboro, MD, Abu engaged in sexual contact with a minor.

On February 8, 2017, Warrant/Fugitive Division Deputies received information that Abu could be located at the District Courthouse in Hyattsville, Md. where he was arrested and taken into custody without incident. Abu was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Abu is also charged with Third Offense Degree Assault, Sex Abuse of an Abuse, and Second Degree Assault.

‘Operation Broken Heart’ Results in 57 Arrests to Close 60 Warrants #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division conducted a warrant operation dubbed “Operation Broken Heart” last week that resulted in 57 arrests to close 60 warrants. Operation Broken Heart began in the late hours of Thursday night and concluded on Friday morning.

The joint operation of ten teams included law enforcement personnel with the US Marshall Service, Prince George’s County Police, Bladensburg, Greenbelt, Capitol Heights, Glenarden, and District Heights Police Departments, along with the Maryland National Capital Park Police Department, Prince George’s County Department of Corrections, and Prince George’s County Public Safety Communications.

Throughout the course of the night law enforcement officers teams attempted to serve warrants at 244 addresses. The teams successfully made 57 arrests and were able to close 60 outstanding warrants. Some of the individuals arrested had warrants for First Degree Assault, Robbery, Carjacking, Violation of an Exparte (court order), and First Degree Burglary. All arrests were made without incident or injury during the operation.

One team dedicated to Child Support Enforcement warrants resulted in three arrests representing Child Support payments arrears of $38,551.

Captain Randall Cooper, Assistant Bureau Chief of Field Operations said the impact of the combined effort with other law enforcement partners cannot be overstated. “Working together we simply have capacity that we might not otherwise have. This collaboration puts enormous resources at our disposal so that we have the best opportunity for success with freshly investigated warrants. Closing felony warrants continues to be our priority resulting in a terrific return on our investment of time and manpower. ”

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report


Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

 Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Anthony Keys of Hyattsville, MD on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by the County Police Department on January 1st, 2017.

According to the warrant, on January 1st, county police responded to a call for a stabbing in the 1500 block of Southview Drive in Oxon Hill, MD. Once on scene the officers found the victim on the ground suffering from a stab wound to his chest. The victim stated that he had invited Key into his house to celebrate New Year’s when they began to argue, and that when he asked Key to leave and escorted him outside, Key stabbed him. The warrant also states that the victim was transported to the hospital with life threatening injuries.

Upon receipt of the warrant, Sheriff’s Deputies investigation determined that Key was staying in Atlanta GA. Deputies passed this information on to law enforcement officers in Atlanta where they arrested Key without incident and transported him to the Dekalb County Jail in Atlanta Georgia for processing and where he is currently awaiting extradition back to MD.

Key is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, Assault First Degree, and Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Injure.

  First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Mack Kennedy of Hyattsville, MD on an arrest warrant for Assault First Degree that was obtained by the County Police on January 25, 2017.

The Warrant states that on January 8th, county police responded to the 4100 block of Warner Avenue for an assault call where they spoke with the victim who stated that she and Kennedy - her neighbor - were talking and having drinks together. According to the warrant a conversation between the two turned into an argument and resulted in a physical altercation. The warrant further states that when the victim yelled for Kennedy to stop he grabbed her by the neck and began to strangle her. The victim indicated that Kennedy left her apartment when she lowered her voice during the stranglehold and asked him to leave.

On February 13th, Deputies’ investigation led them to an address in the 4000 block of Warner Avenue in Hyattsville, MD. When deputies observed a resident leaving the apartment they approached and confirmed Kennedy was inside into which they were allowed peaceful entry. Deputies located Kennedy and advised him that he had an open warrant, took him into custody and transported him to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Kennedy is also charged with Sex Offense Third Degree and Second Degree Assault.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Nyles Mason of Clinton, MD, on an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery obtained by the County Police on January 14, 2017.

According to the warrant, on January 13th, a female Dominos’ pizza driver responded to the 9000 block of Shoal Court in Cheltenham, MD to deliver a pizza. As she arrived, Mason and two other male suspects are alleged to have opened the door, displayed a handgun and demanded money. In fear for her life, the victim ran back to her vehicle as the three suspects followed her and took approximately $18.00, after which they fled the scene on foot.

Upon receipt of the warrant on February 4th, deputies’ investigation determined that Mason could be located in the 2000 block of Deegan Court in Clinton, MD. They were unable to locate him at the address but left information with a family member. On February 6th, Mason agreed to meet with the deputies to turn himself in at the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections for processing.

Mason is also charged with Robbery, First and Second Degree Assault, Firearm Use/Felony Violent Crime, Handgun on Person, and Theft less than $100.00.

First Degree Burglary Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested D’andre Kornegay of Seat Pleasant, MD who was wanted on an arrest warrant for First Degree Burglary obtained by County Police on January 27, 2017.

According to the warrant, on December 12th 2016, Kornegay was in the 300 block of 70th Place in Capitol Heights, MD, where he allegedly broke into a victim’s house by manipulating the patio door. Multiple items were reported stolen from the house, including the victims’ personal checkbook, electronics and several pieces of jewelry.

On February 8th, Sheriff’s deputies located Kornegay in the 6000 block of James Farmer Way in Seat Pleasant, MD. Kornegay was positively identified and cooperated with authorities. He was taken into custody and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections (DOC) for processing.

Kornegay is also charged Third and Fourth Degree Burglary and Theft less than 1,000.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Karlief Moye of Silver Spring, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for First Degree Murder that was obtained by County Police on January 29, 2017.

According to the warrant, on the same day that the warrant was obtained, Moye was involved in a verbal dispute with three males at a business office in the 6800 block of Race Track Road in Bowie, MD after which Moye left the scene. A short time later, Moye is alleged to have returned to the location where he produced a handgun and fired at the persons with whom he’d had the altercation and fled the scene. The warrant further states that two male victims were pronounced dead by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, the third victim was transported to the hospital for treatment. Moye was later positively identified.

On February 9th, Deputies’ investigation revealed that Moye was at Prince George’s County Hospital Center. Deputies responded, took him into custody after which he was turned over to the County Department of Corrections which assumed custody until he was released from the hospital.

Moye is also charged with Second Degree Murder, Attempted First and Second Degree Murder, and First and Second Degree Assault.

Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Misael Diaz - Oliva of Hyattsville, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by Riverdale Park Police on February 09, 2017.

According to the warrant, on January 20, 2017, at a restaurant in the 5600 block Kenilworth Avenue, MD, Diaz-Oliva and another suspect approached a male while in the restroom. Diaz - Oliva allegedly pulled out an edged weapon, struck the victim in the chest and took his cell phone. Diaz-Oliva fled the scene. The warrant states that a witness saw Diaz-Oliva gesture towards the victim as he walked to the restroom.

On February 10, 2017, Sheriff Deputies located Diaz - Oliva at a residence in the 3700 block of Pogonia Court, Hyattsville, MD, where they took him into custody without incident and transported him to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Diaz- Oliva is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, and Reckless Endangerment.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Christopher Martinez of Hyattsville, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by County Police Department on January 11, 2017.

According to the warrant, on January 07, 2017, at a residence in the 7600 block West Park Drive, MD, Martinez was involved in a physical altercation with a male victim. Witnesses stated that Martinez allegedly pulled out an edged weapon, with which he struck the victim in the chest. As the victim bled, Martinez fled the scene. The warrant states that victim was immediately transported to MedStar Hospital Center for treatment.

On January 27, 2017 Sheriff Deputies located Martinez at a residence in the 2100 block of Van Buren Street, Hyattsville, MD, where they took him into custody without incident and transported him to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

Martinez is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, and Dangerous Weapon with Intent to Injure.

Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Genaro Solis of College Park, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery that was obtained by the Greenbelt City Police Department on January 20, 2017.

According to the warrant, on January 3, 2017 in the 7200 block of Hanover Parkway in Greenbelt, MD, Solis allegedly entered a pharmacy store with a mask, displayed a gun, and demanded bottles of oxycodone and money from the male victim. After which, Solis fled on foot. The warrant further states that Solis’ criminal actions were also caught on surveillance.

Upon receipt of the warrant, on February 5th, deputies’ investigation led them in the 4900 block of Fox Street in College Park, MD. They knocked on the door and was escorted to Solis as they placed him into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Solis is also charged with Robbery, First and Second Degree Assault, Handgun on person and Firearm Use/Felony Violent Crime.

Prince George's Sheriff Deputies assisted Firefighters to save a man and woman from burning Clinton Md. house



Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

  Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

       First Degree Burglary Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Fernando Ventura of Silver Spring, MD who was wanted on an arrest warrant for First Degree Burglary obtained by County Police on December 22, 2016.

According to the warrant, on November 28th, at a residence in the 4200 block of Oglethorge Street in Hyattsville, MD, Ventura is alleged to have forced his way through the front door. The victim stated that a flat screen television was stolen that was valued at approximately $400.00. The warrant further states that Ventura was spotted on camera in a nearby pawn store with a flat television with the same serial number as the missing property.

On January 24, 2017, Sheriff Deputies discovered that Ventura was scheduled for a court hearing at Prince George’s County District Court in Hyattsville. After court deputies took him into custody without incident and he was transported to the Department of Corrections Regional Processing Unit in Hyattsville, Md.

Ventura is also charged with Theft 1,000 to under 10,000.
 
First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Maurice Mercer of Capitol Heights, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault that was obtained by County Police on December 16, 2016.

According to the warrant, on the same day the warrant was obtained, in a parking lot in the 1900 block of Brooks Drive in Capitol Heights, MD, Mercer and a female were engaged in heated argument about an altercation with her brother earlier that day. Sitting in his vehicle, Mercer is alleged to have pulled a handgun, pointed it towards the female and told her not to call police. The warrant further states that Maurice put the weapon away and fled the scene.

On January 9, Deputies determined that Mercer could be located in the 4200 block of 28th Ave in Temple Hills, MD. The deputies went to the residence, arrested Mercer without incident and transported him to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections (DOC) for processing. Mercer is also charged with Second Assault Degree, Firearm use in a Felonious Violent Crime, Handgun on Person and Handgun in Vehicle.
