Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:
 
 Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested

  Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Rodryquies Beckwith of Capitol Heights, MD on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by the County Police Department on January 17, 2017.

According to the warrant, on January 2nd officers responded to the intersection of Auth Road and Medford Avenue in Suitland MD for the report of a shooting. They made contact with the victim who stated that a vehicle pulled beside him in which he observed someone pointing a gun at him, heard three clicks and began to run for his life. The warrant also states that the victim heard the suspect get out of his vehicle and chase him through the neighborhood on foot. The victim escaped when he ran through a yard. Police broadcast a lookout for the suspect who was stopped and interviewed.

Upon receipt of the warrant, Sheriff’s Deputies convinced Beckwith to meet with them and turn himself in. Deputies met Beckwith in Upper Marlboro, MD where he was taken into custody without incident and escorted into the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Beckwith is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, and Firearm use in a Felonious Crime.

Sex Offense Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Juan Samuel of Landover, MD on a warrant for Third Sex Offense that was obtained by the County Police on February 22, 2017.

According to the warrant, during the month of December 2015, at a residence in Landover, MD, Samuel engaged in sexual contact with a minor. On March 14, 2017, Samuel agreed to meet with the Sheriff’s Warrant squad at a restaurant in Oxon Hill MD where Samuel was arrested and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Samuel is also charged with Fourth Degree Sex Offense, Sex Abuse of a Minor, and Second Degree Assault.
