First Degree Assault Suspects Arrested


Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

 First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Dehrias Gross, of Upper Marlboro, MD on an arrest warrant for Assault First Degree obtained by the County Police on November 10, 2015.

According to the warrant, on September 24th, 2015, Gross was allegedly in the 4800 block of Saint Barnabas Road when he entered a retail establishment, pointed a gun at the employee and demanded money. The warrant also states that someone else entered the store and Gross pointed the gun at him and he ran back out of the location. The employee showed Gross where the money was and he fled the location with approximately $3000 dollars.

Upon receipt of the warrant, the Sheriff’s Deputies investigation discovered that Gross was incarcerated in Philadelphia, PA on an unrelated charge. Gross was extradited back to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Gross is also charged with Firearm use in a Felony, Second Degree Assault, and Theft $1,000 to less than $10,000.

First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Lavonda Dickson, of District Heights, MD on an arrest warrant for Assault First Degree obtained by the County Police on May 8th, 2017.

The warrant states that on May 7th, police responded to a call for an armed robbery in the 6700 block of Chavez Lane in District Heights, MD. Officers met with the victim who stated that Dickson, who was known to him, along with another suspect had an argument that turned physical. The victim fell to the ground and was struck in the head repeatedly with closed fist and a crow bar. Dickson then took the victim’s money without consent and left along with the suspect. The victim was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

The deputies’ investigation determined that Dickson could be located in the 6700 block of Darkwood Court in District Heights, MD. When deputies knocked a female answered the door and identified herself as Lavonda Dickson. Dickson was advised of the warrant and taken into custody and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections without incident.

Dickson is also charges with Armed Robbery, Robbery, Second Degree Assault, and Theft less than $1,000.
