The Prince George's County Alumnae Chapter (PGCAC) of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority joins PGSO's "Teddy Bear Partnership"

The PGCAC of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority collected over a hundred teddy bears through their chapters collaborative December "Holiday Community Service Outreach". Last night they donated the teddy bears to the Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff. The bears are used by deputies in the Domestic Violence Intervention Division (DVID) to comfort small children they encounter who are confused in the chaotic events related to deputies responding to domestic violence 911 calls for service. For a frightened child a teddy bear is something to hold onto.

They have been regular participants at our "Purple Light Night®" lighting ceremonies. Last year two members Ola Hill and Tawanda Rooney were recipients of the inaugural "Purple Light Bulb Award" given in recognition of their partnership, support, and fearless leadership in shining a light in the darkness where domestic violence thrives.
