Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest First Degree Arson Suspect !

Upper Marlboro, MD…. The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Roderick Jackson on December 3, 2019, for a First-Degree Arson warrant obtained by fire investigators from the Prince George’s County Office of the Fire Marshal on October 28, 2019.


According to the warrant, on September 19, 2019, Roderick Jackson was in the 5300 blocks of Quincy Street Hyattsville, MD, when he allegedly set fire to a window air conditioner unit. The victim reported seeing flames and smelled smoke coming from her air conditioner unit where Mr. Jackson was standing. She contacted the fire department for emergency assistance, after which Jackson fled the scene.

The U. S. Marshal Services Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force was assigned the case and deputies on the Task Force who were investigating Jackson's whereabouts located him at his residence in the ten-block of Halley Street in Washington, D.C. They arrested Jackson without incident and he was transported to the Metropolitan Police Department for processing where he will remain in custody until he is extradited to Prince George’s County, MD.


In addition to First -Degree Arson, Jackson is also charged with Arson 2nd Degree, Malicious Burning/2nd Degree, and Reckless Endangerment.
