Warrant Division Arrests First Degree Assault Suspect



Upper Marlboro, MD…The Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest Friday of Antuane Simms on a First Degree Assault warrant obtained on July 18, 2012 by County Police District IV detectives.

According to the warrant, on May 12, 2012, Simms allegedly assaulted another male with an unknown object after a verbal dispute in the 3100 block of Branch Avenue in Temple Hills, MD.  The warrant further states that Simms fled the scene before police arrived. 

Friday evening, Sheriff’s Deputies heard a lookout broadcast from the county’s Public Safety Communications dispatcher describing a vehicle Simms was thought to be driving. Deputies initiated a traffic stop, on a vehicle fitting the description, at the intersection of Marlboro Pike and Brooks Drive, in Capitol Heights, MD. Simms was identified as the driver and taken into custody. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections where he is being held on a No Bond Status. District IV detectives were notified of the arrest.

Simms is also charged with Reckless Endangerment, and Second Degree Assault.
