Deputies Arrest Theft of $25,000 to Under $100,000 Suspect


 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Lorenzo Dwayne Day on June 21, 2022, on a warrant for Theft of $25,000 to Under $100,000 obtained by county police on June 12, 2022.


According to the warrant, on June 1st, a victim reported having their vehicle stolen after observing broken glass on the ground where their vehicle was parked. Detectives later observed Mr. Day and another individual outside a local vehicle repair shop in possession of the stolen vehicle. At that time, Day was observed by police attempting to repair the broken window. When police arrived, both suspects fled, escaping with the stolen vehicle. Through their investigation, detectives identified Day as the Suspect.  

On June 21st, deputies determined that Day could be located at an address in the 11000 block of Kettering Circle in Upper Marlboro, MD. Deputies knocked, and a resident answered, allowing them to enter the home. Once inside, Day was identified standing in the hallway. He was served the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.

 

Day is also charged with Motor Vehicle/Unlawful Taking, and Rouge & Vagabond.
