Sheriff’s Community Partnerships Section Holds First Middle School Basketball Tournament

The Sheriff’s Positive Deputies Assisting Youth (D.A.Y.) program held the first “Back To Ballin” basketball tournament Saturday March 23, 2013, at Thurgood Marshall Middle School in Temple Hills, MD. The tournament, hosted by Angie Ange of WKYS radio, included 90 students from 6 middle schools from Prince George’s County.  Sponsors for the tournament included Downtown Locker Room, the More Than Basketball organization, Ledo Pizza and WKYS radio. Students from Thrugood Marshall, Walker Mill, Andrew Jackson, Benjamin Stoddert, William Wirt and, the eventual champions, Imagine Lincoln Middle School participated in the event. Middle Schools received refreshments courtesy of Ledo Pizza and T-shirts from Downtown Locke Room.
