Sheriff Deputies Arrest Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Michael Matthews of Upper Marlboro, MD on an arrest warrant for Assault First Degree. The warrant was taken out by the county police on May 14, 2014

According to the warrant, on April 29, 2014, Matthews and a male accomplice allegedly assaulted a male victim on the 6000 Block of Marlboro Pike, District Heights MD. The warrant further states that the attack stemmed from a verbal argument after which Matthews allegedly stabbed the victim in the chest. 

The Sheriff’s Warrant/ Fugitive Squad obtained information about Matthews’s whereabouts through a confidential source. Matthews was located and apprehended without incident in the 6000 block of Surrey Square Lane, District Heights MD, he was turned over to county police detectives. He was also charged with Assault Second Degree.
