Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Marcus Slade of Greenbelt, MD on an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery obtained by Greenbelt Police on April 26th, 2016.

According to the warrant, on March 5th, a man walking in the 5900 block of Cherrywood Terrace in Greenbelt MD was approached by another man who asked him for a cigarette; he told the person he didn’t have any and continued walking but the man asked again for a cigarette. The first man noticed three people coming up the foot path toward him when the suspect grabbed him from behind, began choking him while holding a knife to his neck while the other three began to kick and punch him. The victim said the person who asked for the cigarette stole his cell phone and attempted to take his wallet. The victim said a witness yelled from her apartment and the suspects fled. Upon receipt of the warrant the deputies’ investigation led them to an address in the 6000 block of Springhill Drive in Greenbelt, MD where they observed the suspect sitting in front of the residence. When questioned, Slade identified himself and was taken into custody without incident. He was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Slade is also charged with Robbery, Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, and Theft less than $1000.

Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

  Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Gordon Cummings of Silver Spring, MD on an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery that was obtained by the County Police on May 10, 2016.

According to the warrant, on August 8, 2015, Cummings and three other suspects approached a male victim in the 900 block of Edwards Way in Hyattsville MD as he walked home from the bus stop. Cummings is alleged to have displayed a handgun demanded the man’s property, which he gave them. The suspects fled the scene.

On May 26, Cummings had a court date at the Silver Spring Courthouse. Sheriff Deputies’ were notified by the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department that the suspect would be detained. Cummings was released to Prince George’s County Sheriff’s deputies and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Hyattsville, Md.

Cummings is also charged with First Degree Assault, Firearm use and Felony Violent Crime and Theft less than $1000.
