Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:
First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested
  Sheriff’s deputies arrested Brianna Gathers of Lanham, MD, on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by the County Police on June 24th, 2015.
According to the warrant, on June 17th, in the 4000 block of Cooper lane in Hyattsville, MD, Gathers and two other suspects entered an apartment and stabbed a victim multiple times before fleeing in an unknown direction. The unconscious victim was transported to Prince George’s Hospital to receive treatment for the injuries. The warrant states that Gathers was identified by more than one witness and that one of the witnesses stated that they saw her stab the victim and knew her from the neighborhood.
Upon receiving the warrant, on June 25th, the deputies began their investigation and were informed that Gathers was aware of the warrant and was attempting to hide from them. The deputies’ were still able to locate Gathers at a residence in the 3300 block of Walters Lane, in Forestville, MD. On July 22nd deputies went to the residence and knocked on the door, when the door opened Gathers was observed sitting inside the apartment, she was placed into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
Gathers is also charged with Second Degree Assault and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon with the Intent to Injure.

First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

The Sheriff’s deputies arrested Yared Tekele of Greenbelt, MD, on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault that was obtained by the City of Greenbelt Police on July 9th, 2015.
The warrant states that on July 8th, Tekele was at an address on Springshire Way in Greenbelt, MD when he was involved in an argument that turned physical. Tekele allegedly punched a victim several times and also bit the victim in the face. The victim went to the hospital to receive treatment for the injuries and stated that this was the second time being assaulted by Tekele.
Deputies received the warrant on July 12th and on July 20th deputies arrived at Tekele’s residence and he was captured trying to escape out the basement door. Tekele was placed into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
Tekele is also charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault.

Suspects Arrested: Charged with CDS/ Intent to Distribute #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Marlo Stevenson and Davon Jackson of Capitol Heights, MD who were wanted on arrest warrants for CDS Possession with Intent to Distribute obtained by County Police Narcotic Enforcement Division on July 7, 2015.


According to the warrant, County Police Detectives executed a court ordered search and seizure warrant at a residence in the 5000 block of Lee Jay Court in Capitol Heights, MD, and found more than 100 grams of suspected marijuana, 13 clear vials containing trace amount of suspected Phencyclidine (PCP), Paraphernalia, digital scale, and $3,200.00 hidden inside a shoe. Following a search of the residence and further investigation, police detectives sought an arrest warrant for Stevenson and Jackson.

On July 20, 2015, Deputies located Stevenson and Jackson at the address of the incident, where they were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections (DOC) in Hyattsville, MD for processing.


Both were charged with CDS Possession –Marijuana, CDS Possession-Paraphernalia and CDS Possession-Not Marijuana.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:
   Burglary Third Degree Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Roosevelt Best Jr. of Ft. Washington, MD, on an arrest warrant for Burglary Third Degree obtained by the County Police on May 24th, 2015.

According to the warrant, on May 23rd, in the 6300 block of Croom Station Rd in Upper Marlboro, MD, Best Jr. after having a phone dispute with someone known to him, went to that person’s residence and kicked in the door. Best Jr. forcibly entered the residence and assaulted two people inside. The warrant states that one of the victims attempted to detain Best Jr. until the police arrived but he broke free and fled the scene.

After receipt of the warrant deputies determined through investigation that Best Jr. was at a residence in the 2000 block of Belfast Drive, located in Ft. Washington, MD. On July 23rd they went to the residence where they were allowed to enter. They placed Best Jr. into custody and transported him to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Best Jr. is also charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault, Malicious Destruction of Property, and Violation of a Protective Order.

Home Invasion Suspect Extradited

The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the extradition of Christopher Fleming from the Mecklenburg County Jail in Charlotte N.C. where he had been arrested on a warrant obtained by Prince George’s County Police on June 2, 2015 for Home Invasion.

According to the warrant on May 29th, Fleming along with another suspect entered a residence in the 4900 block of Rees Lane in Bowie, MD and pointed guns at a victim. The victim was secured with zip ties while the suspects stole various items inside the house.

Deputies traveled to Charlotte N.C. to transport Fleming back to appear in the District Court of Maryland for Prince George’s County. Fleming was also charged with Armed Robbery, First Degree Assault, Burglary First Degree, and Robbery.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:
   
     Third Degree Burglary Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Darwin Carcamo-Benavides of Oxon Hill, MD, on an arrest warrant for Third Degree Burglary obtained by the County Police on May 7, 2015.

According to the warrant, on April 28th, Carcamo-Benavides was in the 600 block of Carson Avenue in Oxon Hill, MD, where he and three other people are alleged to have broken into the residence and sprayed graffiti onto the wall. The warrant also states that all four were wearing Oxon Hill school uniforms and attempted to flee on foot when the police arrived but were apprehended. Carcamo-Benavides was released to the custody of school officials and advised of pending warrants. On July 13th Sheriff Deputies went to the residence of Carcamo-Benavides and took him into custody without incident, he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections (DOC)

Carcamo-Benavides is also charged with Burglary 4th Degree and Malicious Destruction of Property over $1,000.

                                                   Felony Indictment Suspect Arrested

The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Michelle Murray on an indictment alleging Manslaughter by Auto. The indictment was issued by the Circuit Court of Prince George's County on July 7, 2015. Upon receiving the indictment, Warrant/Fugitive Deputies began an investigation into Murray’s whereabouts.

On July 15, 2015, Deputies located and arrested Murray at her residence in the 8000 block of Pioneer Drive in Severn, Md in Anne Arundel County. She was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Department of Corrections for processing.

#PGSO Sheriff High Greets 4th Annual Summer Youth Academy Session II


Sheriff Melvin High greeted cadets today at the Community Partnership Session II D.A.Y Corps Summer Program at Walker Mill Middle School.
During the two week sessions, Sheriff Deputies and Sheriff Explorers will engage the cadets in weekly educational field trips as well as group seminar styled sessions.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Dondre Ross of Riverdale, MD, on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by the County Police on June 6, 2015.

According to the warrant, on June 6th, in the 5300 block of Furman Parkway in Riverdale, MD, Ross along with an unknown suspect approached a male victim and displayed a handgun. The unknown suspect is alleged to have struck the victim in the head while Ross punched him several times in the face and placed him in a choke hold before both suspects fled the scene. The warrant states that Ross and the victim were known to each other and had been in a feud that had been escalating over previous months.

Upon receiving the warrant, on June 29th, Deputies made several attempts to locate Ross at the address on the warrant but had negative results. On July 9, Deputies left contact information at his parents’ residence within hours. They were contacted by Ross and turned himself in at the Hyattsville Courthouse without incident after which he was transported to District III Police Station. Ross is also charged with Second Degree Assault.

Felony Indictment Suspect Arrested

The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Keyshawn Crawford on an indictment alleging Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. The indictment was issued by the Circuit Court of Prince George's County on June 25, 2015. Upon receiving the indictment, Warrant/Fugitive Deputies began an investigation into Crawford’s whereabouts.

On July 6, 2015, Deputies located and arrested Crawford at his home in the 6000 block of Furman Parkway in Hyattsville, Md. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Department of Corrections for processing. Ross was also charged with Robbery, First Degree Assault, and Conspiracy-Robbery.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO


Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

Second Degree Child Abuse Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Joseph Mathis of Capitol Heights, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Second Degree Child Abuse obtained by County Police on July 1, 2015. 

According to the warrant, on July 1st, Mathis is alleged to have abused a female victim at a residence in the 700 block of Elfin Avenue in Capitol Heights, MD.

On July 6, 2015, the deputies’ investigation determined that Mathis could be found at the address where the incident occurred. Deputies knocked on the door and were granted access to the residence where they found Mathis in the bedroom. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Mathis is also charged with Second Degree Assault.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:
 
Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested
 
  Sheriff’s deputies arrested Robert Clyburn of Temple Hills, MD, on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by the County Police Department on July 3, 2015.

According to the warrant, Clyburn and as many as possible seven other male suspects arrived at a residence in the 6000 block of Janet Lane in Fort Washington, MD in two vehicles. The warrant indicates that the suspects are alleged to have exited the vehicles, rushed toward four victims who attempted to escape but were caught and stabbed, resulting in multiple wounds, after which the suspects fled the scene. The warrant further states that Clyburn and his father had a physical altercation with two of the victims who were known to Clyburn, at a location gas station earlier in the day.

Deputies along with members of the FBI Task Force located Clyburn at his residence in the block 5000 block of Ludlow Drive in Temple Hills, MD, where he was found in the basement. Clyburn was taken into custody without incident and transported to District IV Police Station.

Clyburn was also charged with First Degree Assault (x4) and Second Degree Assault (x4).

First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Anthony Richardson of Capitol Heights, MD, on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by the Sheriff’s Office Domestic Violence Intervention Division on June 28, 2015.

According to the warrant, on the same day the warrant was obtained, in the 6000 block of Walker Mill Road in Capitol Heights, MD, Richardson was in an argument that became physical. Richardson struck a female victim multiple times in the face with a closed fist. Richardson also allegedly pulled a handgun, which he pointed at the victim, demanded the keys to her vehicle. Richardson took the keys and fled the scene in the victim’s vehicle.

On June 29, FAST Deputies located Richardson at a residence in the 6000 block of New Forest Court in Waldorf, Md, where they were granted access to the residence and identified Richardson. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to District III Police Station.

Richardson is also charged with Second Degree Assault, Handgun on Person, and Unauthorized Removal of Property.

Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:
 
    First Degree Burglary Suspect Arrested  
 
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Brian Epps of Hyattsville, MD who was wanted on an arrest warrant for First Degree Burglary obtained by County Police on June 18, 2015.

The warrant states that on July 6, 2014, Epps was in the 6000 block of 100th Ave in Lanham, MD, where he allegedly stole two flat screen televisions, an air conditioning unit, and a push lawnmower valued at $2,000. The warrant also states that the burglary caused approximately $800.00 of damage within the residence.

On June 25th, Epps turned himself in at Sheriff’s Headquarters without incident and he was transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Epps is also charged with Malicious Destruction of Property, Theft 1,000 to under 10,000 and Burglary Third Degree.

Suspect Arrested for Attempted First Degree Murder

Sheriff’s deputies extradited Derrick Herndon to Prince George’s County, MD on June 29th from the Albemarle Regional Jail located in Charlottesville, Virginia. Herndon, who is from Charlottesville, Virginia, was wanted on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder issued by the Circuit Court of Prince George's County on April 14, 2015.

According to the warrant, on January 7, 2014, in the 5000 block of 18th Ave in Hyattsville, Md. Herndon and a male victim were involved in an argument over money while sitting in Herndon’s vehicle. The warrant further states that the victim jumped out the car to flee when Herndon is alleged to have pulled out a handgun, which he fired, striking the victim in the bicep. Herndon fled the scene.

Herndon is also charged Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Firearm Use/Felony Violent Crime, Reckless Endangerment from a Motor Vehicle, and Firearm Possession with Felony Conviction.
