Deputies Arrest First-Degree Rape Suspect
Upper Marlboro, MD…The Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Miguel C. Owens, on May 8, 2023, on a warrant for First Degree Rape obtained by Laurel Police Department on April 11, 2023.
According to the warrant, on December 14, 2022, Laurel police
responded to a call for a sexual assault at gunpoint at Olive Branch Way and
Wern Way in Laurel, MD. When officers arrived, they spoke with the victim who
disclosed Owens allegedly forced them to perform sexual acts at gunpoint on
serval different occasions. Through their investigation, detectives identified Owens
as the suspect.
Owens is also charged
with First-Degree Assault, Second-Degree Assault, and Firearm
Use/Felony-Violence Crime.

Sheriff Carr and the members of The Office of the Sheriff for Prince George's County MD joined Dept. of Environment Deputy Director A. Caldarelli and Principal R. Mboma at Francis Scott Key Elementary School to celebrate Arbor Day. Deputy Director Caldarelli issued a proclamation of the Arbor Day officially on April 28, 2023!
