Deputies Arrest Brothers for First Degree Burglary in Temple Hills

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Warrant Fugitive Division has arrested brothers and Co-Defendants Myron and Lawrence Knott on arrest warrants for First Degree Burglary obtained by County Police detectives on August 6, 2013.

According to the warrant, in early August, Lawrence Knott was observed by a County Police Detective leaving the backyard of an address in the 6700 block of Edgemere Dr in Temple Hills, MD with a water cooler containing pieces of cut copper piping. After a brief inquiry, a black trash can having additional pieces of copper piping was found in the homeowner’s backyard it was determined that Knott did not live at the residence and the items in the cooler did not belong to the homeowner.

 The warrant further states that several days later a Burglary was reported from an address in the same block of Edgemere Drive. Further investigation revealed that Myron Knott entered the residence through a lower level basement window and removed the piping causing significant damage, estimated at approximately $3,000.00, before fleeing the home. The warrant connects the items found in the cooler to this location.

Deputies investigating the Knott’s whereabouts were led to the 5200 block of Edgemere Court in Temple Hills MD where they were both located and apprehended without incident. Both Suspects were transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections. District IV detectives were notified of the arrest.

In addition to First Degree Burglary, both Myron and Lawrence Knott have been charged with one count each of Fourth Degree Burglary, Theft: $1,000 to under $10,000.00 and Malicious Destruction of Property Valued over $500.00.
