Upper Marlboro, MD…The
Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division in cooperation with the Bowie Police
Department, the City of Glenarden, Capitol Heights, and Colmar Manor Police
Department executed warrant sweeps in the last two weeks.
The Bowie sweep was comprised of six teams of Sheriff
Deputies and Bowie Police Officers, who began the operation with 89 recently
investigated warrants that resulted in 31 arrests to close 32 warrants.
Bowie
Police Chief, John Nesky said, “Sharing resources for a joint warrant operation
has always worked for law enforcement.
Closing 32 warrants is an excellent result for my Department, for the
Sheriff and for the citizens of our city.”
The
second operation was held during the early morning hours of March 28 in central
Prince George’s County with the assistance of Glenarden PD, Capitol Heights PD,
and Colmar Manor PD. Two teams attempted service of 33 warrants that resulted
in 15 arrests.
Warrant/
Fugitive Division Sgt. Minor applauded the sweeps calling it a “tremendous
success”.
The
suspects were transported to the Prince George’s County Department of
Corrections for processing.
