The
Child Support Sweep was comprised of three teams, including CSEU deputies, as
well as deputies from The Warrant/ Fugitive Division, Landlord and Tenant
Division, and the Domestic Violence Intervention Division.
The
teams attempted to serve over 100 child support warrants. Of the 30 child support arrests, one
individual owed as much as $42,000.
“With
deputy support from other Divisions to augment our teams, our two-day Mother’s
Day Warrant Sweep was a success. This is
the core of our partnership with the State Office of Child Support Enforcement,
to bring these individuals to the courts and to facilitate the collection of
dollars that provide for the care of children in the care of custodial
parents.” said Lieutenant Bowers, Commander, and Child Support Enforcement Unit.
