Media Advisory: Active Assailant Training Drill

Upper Marlboro, MD…  The Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff will be conducting a training exercise on the grounds of the Courthouse located on Main Street in Upper Marlboro.  This will be a multi-agency event with more than 150 Public Safety personnel along with civilian participants.  The goal for this drill is to test law enforcement’s response to an active assailant/active shooting incident at the Courthouse complex.   

Due to safety concerns for all citizens and participants in the training exercise, streets leading into the Town proper will be controlled by law enforcement personnel from 7:00 am through 5: 00 pm on this date.  All vehicular traffic will be rerouted during the exercise; however pedestrian traffic will be allowed to local businesses and residences.  Main Street/State Route 725 will be closed at Governor Oden Bowie Drive on the East end and at Water Street on the West end.  Judges Drive will be closed at Pratt Street on the East end and Water Street on the West end.
