According to court documents, on September 4, 2014,
DVID Deputies were dispatched to a residence in the 600 block of Balboa Avenue
in Capitol Heights, MD for a domestic dispute. Deputies arrived at the location
and made contact with the victim who stated she was taking Wright’s belongings
out of a vehicle, when Wright became upset because there were some items
missing and began banging on the victim’s car. The document further states that
Wright picked up a pole and began swinging it at the victim, ultimately
striking the victim’s car and causing glass to shatter over a minor child
sitting in the back seat. He fled the scene prior to the deputies’ arrival.
Deputies initiated a routine warrant check that
revealed that there was an outstanding warrant for Wright on a Failure to
Appear for Driving while Suspended charge. Deputies canvased the area in search
of Wright after speaking to him on the telephone in which he admitted to the
incident on Balboa Avenue. DVID Deputies located Wright at Southern Avenue and
Old Central Avenue. Wright was arrested without incident and transported to the
Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
Wright was also charged with an additional count of
First Degree Assault, Malicious Destruction of Property and Reckless
Endangerment.
