PGSO’s Positive D.A.Y. Cadets Bring Spirit of Christmas Joy to a Family. #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff Positive Deputies Assisting Youth (D.A.Y.) Mentoring Program Cadets at Oxon Hill Middle School marched in formation into the school assembly, looking sharp in their cadet uniforms; everyone in attendance stopped to give the cadets their attention.

At this holiday event at Oxon Hill Middle School these cadets brought more than gifts to one family and brought tears of joy to many who attended.  The D.A.Y. Cadets were there to share the spirit of Christmas cheer with the Gaston family.  Led by their commander, Corporal Alaina Gay, the D.A.Y. Cadets presented the family with several gifts including two bicycles, an Apple IPad, and gift cards for dinner.

One of the lessons Corporal Gay has been teaching and discussing with the cadets is the importance of giving back to the community.  Cpl. Gay says she is extremely proud of how hard her cadets have worked and how well they are doing this year.

Principal Wendell Coleman took a moment with the cadets and told them how happy he was with the work they had been doing and how well they represented themselves and Oxon Hill Middle School.
