That
suspect announced a robbery and fired at the Deputy. The Deputy, who was armed with his duty
weapon, returned fire. The suspects fled
and entered a vehicle believed to be driven by another suspect. There are no known injuries at this time.
The
Prince George's County Police Department is investigating the felony assault
against the Deputy. The Prince George's
County Sheriff's Office Internal Affairs Division will be conducting a
concurrent administrative investigation.
The
Deputy has been placed on routine administrative leave. The involved Deputy's information will be
provided on Monday, July 25, 2016.
