Armed Robbery Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Timothy Best of Capitol Heights, MD on an arrest warrant for Armed Robbery obtained by the County Police on March 07, 2017.

According to the warrant, on February 16th, County Police responded to the block of Shady Glen Drive in Capitol Heights, MD for a reported citizen armed robbery. Officers arrived on scene and spoke with three victims who stated that they had met two suspects in order to purchase a cell phone. The warrant states that when one man started to pay for the phone the suspects displayed a shotgun and handgun and said “I will kill you, give me everything”. The warrant further states the suspects fled the scene with the victims’ belongings valued at approximately $1700.00.

On March 27, Sheriff’s Deputies went to Best’s address in the 7400 block of Shady Glen Terrace in Capitol Heights Md. When a family member answered their knock, escorted them to his room where they informed him of the warrant. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.

Best is also charged with Robbery, First Degree Assault and Firearm use in a Felonious Violent Crime.

 

        First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Tia Goins of Waldorf, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault that was obtained by County Police on March 27, 2017.

According to the warrant, on the day the warrant was obtained, County Police responded to a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. According to the warrant the incident occurred when Goins attempted to speak with the male as he exited his residence. When the male ignored her and continued to walk away, Goins is alleged to have entered her vehicle and struck a male victim, after which she fled the scene. The warrant further states that Goins and the victim were known to each other.

On March 28, Deputies located Goins in the 2000 block of Brooks Drive in Capitol Heights, where she was positively identified, arrested without incident, and transported him to County Police District III for questioning.

Goins is also charged with Second Degree Assault.
