First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Lavonda Dickson, of District Heights, MD on an arrest warrant for Assault First Degree obtained by the County Police on May 8^th, 2017.

The warrant states that on May 7^th, police responded to a call for an armed robbery in the 6700 block of Chavez Lane in District Heights, MD. Officers met with the victim who stated that Dickson, who was known to him, along with another suspect had an argument that turned physical. The victim fell to the ground and was struck in the head repeatedly with closed fist and a crow bar. Dickson then took the victim’s money without consent and left along with the suspect. The victim was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for his injuries.

The deputies’ investigation determined that Dickson could be located in the 6700 block of Darkwood Court in District Heights, MD. When deputies knocked a female answered the door and identified herself as Lavonda Dickson. Dickson was advised of the warrant and taken into custody and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections without incident.

Dickson is also charges with Armed Robbery, Robbery, Second Degree Assault, and Theft less than $1,000.
