First Degree Assault Suspect Arrested
Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Nancy Arriaza, of Riverdale, MD on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by the Riverdale Park Police on December 31, 2017.
According to the warrant, on December 29, 2017, police responded to a suicidal female in the 5600 block of Riverdale Road in Riverdale Park, MD where Arriaza allegedly assaulted her child, placing him in danger. The warrant further states that Arriaza was acting erratically and struck her son with a closed fist. Later that day, Arriaza was admitted to Washington Adventist Hospital on an emergency petition.
Upon receipt of the warrant, on January 23, Sheriff’s Deputies located Arriaza in the 5400 block of Kenilworth Terrence in Riverdale MD; she opened the door and allowed them to enter. She was informed of the warrant, taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
Nancy Arriaza is also charged with Second Degree Assault and Second Degree Child Abuse.
Second Degree Rape Suspect
Arrested Sheriff’s deputies arrested Carlos Marteniz-Ascencio of Adelphi, MD on a warrant for Second Degree Rape that was obtained by the County Police on September 29, 2016.
According to the warrant, from the timeframe of November 1, 2011 to March 1, 2016 in the 1400 block of University Blvd in Hyattsville, MD, Bryant engaged in unwanted sexual contact with a minor.
On January 23rd, Warrant/Fugitive Division Deputies located Marteniz-Ascencio at that location and was positivity identified by deputies. He was taken into custody and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
Marteniz-Ascencio is also charged with Second, Third and Fourth Sex Offense, Second Degree Assault, Indecent Exposure, Sex Abuse Minor and Perverted Practice.
