Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:
First Degree Murder Suspects Extradited
The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive reported the extradition of Larence and Michelle Godfrey from Howard Young Correctional Institute in Wilmington, DE and from Baylor Women’s Correctional Institute, New Castle DE, respectively, on a warrant obtained by Prince George’s County on December 7th and 8th, 2018 for First Degree Murder.
According to the warrant, on December 28, 2018, at a residence in 200 block of 68th Place in Capitol Heights, Larence Godfrey was involved in a verbal altercation with a male which turned physical. Witnesses stated that they observed Godfrey produce a handgun and shoot the male victim multiple times. After, Godfrey fled to a vehicle driven by Michelle Godfrey and both fled the scene. The warrant further states that the male victim was pronounced dead by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Larence Godfrey was later positively identified.
Larence and Michelle Godfrey were both charged with Second Degree Murder, Firearm Use/Felony Violent Crime, Handgun on Person, First and Second-Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment.
Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested
Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Rashaad Wilson of Hyattsville, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by County Police on December 1, 2018.
According to the warrant, on December 1, 2018, in the 7800 block of Sheriff Road, MD, Wilson and another male had a verbal dispute. During the dispute, Wilson went into his home and retrieved a gun, got into a vehicle and began to shoot at the male victim as he drove away.
On December 8, Sheriff Deputies located Wilson at a residence in the 3500 block of Terrace Drive, Hyattsville, MD, where they took him into custody without incident and transported him to the Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Wilson is also charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, First and Second-Degree Assault, Firearm Use/ Felony Violent Crime, Loaded Handgun on Person, Regular Firearm: Illegal Possession and Reckless Endangerment.
