                                 WARRANT/FUGITIVE DIVISION FELONY ARREST REPORT

 

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Devon Johnston on September 17, 2019, for an Armed Robbery warrant obtained by County Police detectives on September 12, 2019.

                       Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Armed Robbery Suspect

According to the warrant, on September 7, 2019, Devon Johnston and an unknown male suspect were in the 600 block of Sheridan Street, Hyattsville, Md. At the location, Johnston and the unknown male suspect approached the victim’s vehicle, threatened him with a handgun and demanded his property. Johnston took the victim’s wallet, cell phone, and currency, after which they fled the scene.

  Deputies worked in cooperation with the County Police Robbery Suppression Team (RST) detectives to investigate Johnston’s whereabouts. Their investigation led to a residence in 5300 block of Cumberland Street, Capitol Heights, MD. A resident who answered the door gave deputies permission to enter the residence where they located Johnston in a rear bedroom. He was taken into custody and transported to County Police detectives.

In addition to Armed Robbery, Johnston is also charged with Robbery, Handgun on Person, and Theft.
