Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Frederick Bangura on November 1, 2019 for an Attempted First-Degree Murder warrant obtained by County Police on August 14, 2019.


  According to the warrant, on August 14, 2019 Fredrick Bangura and three unknown men were in the 3900 block of Lakehouse Road Beltsville, Md. It is alleged Bangura and the men entered the victim’s residence, threatened him with a handgun and demanded his property. The men also allegedly assaulted the victim by striking him in the head and body with their handguns. The victim fled his apartment and was pursued by Bangura and the men who shot their handguns at the victim as he fled to safety. The victim was not struck by any of the shots. Bangura and the men took the victim’s cell phone, keys and debit cards, after which they fled the scene.


Deputies investigating the whereabouts of Fredrick Bangura located him in the 3900 block of Beltsville Road, Laurel, Md. He was taken into custody and transported to County Department of Corrections where he will await trial.

Bangura is also charged with Attempted Second-Degree Murder, First Degree Assault, Second- Degree Assault, Home Invasion, Handgun on Person, Use of Firearm in Commission of Crime and Theft.
