Deputy Named in Weapon Discharge

Upper Marlboro, MD… In a follow-up to the Office of the Sheriff’s report of a weapon discharge by an off-duty deputy sheriff in Bowie, MD in the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 12, 2020, the Office of the Sheriff said the deputy in the case is Lt. Keenan Connley, a 19-year veteran of the agency. Lt. Connley has been placed on routine administrative duty.

The Bowie Police Department reported apprehending two of three suspects who were pulling on car handles on Dunleigh Drive in Bowie. The third suspect stole a vehicle at the home of the deputy and fled the scene.

The investigation of the weapon discharge is being conducted by the Prince George’s County Police Department (PGPD).
