According
to the warrant, on February 19, 2020, police were called
to the 6900 Block of
23rd Place in Hyattsville, MD for a report of a shooting. When
officers arrived, they spoke with a male victim who advised police that he was
walking towards his residence when he saw a black vehicle approach him from
behind. The victim said he saw a male in the backseat behind the driver point a
handgun out of the window. He also said the man fired several shots as he ran,
escaping without injury. Detectives investigations led to Aguilar being
identified as the shooter.
On
February 25, 2020, deputies’ investigation led them to an address in the 6200
Block of Balfour Drive in Hyattsville, MD. Upon arrival, deputies spoke with a
resident who allowed them to enter the home, where they saw Aguilar. He was
served the warrant, taken into custody without incident, and safely transported
to the Regional Investigation Division at the District I police station.
Aguilar
is also charged with Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Four counts
of handgun on person Violations, Illegal Possession of Ammunition, and
Possession of Firearm while under the age of 21.
