Sheriff's Deputies Arrest Alleged Sex Abuse of a Minor Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Jose Santos Amaya on July 28, 2020, on a warrant for Alleged Sex Abuse of a Minor obtained by Police on July 24, 2020. 

According to the warrant, on or about May 14 through May 22, 2020, a minor victim  disclosed that Amaya had allegedly engaged in sexual acts with them at a residence in College Park, MD. 

On July 28, deputies' investigation led them to an address in College Park, MD, where they spoke with a resident who allowed them to enter the home. Once inside, Amaya was seen sitting in the living room where deputies served him the warrant, placed him into custody and safely transported him to the Prince Georges County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident. 

Amaya is also charged with Second Degree Assault, Third Degree Sex Offense, and Fourth Degree Sex Offense.
