Deputies Arrest First Degree Assault Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff's Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Jose Sanchez-Morales on October 1, 2020, on a warrant for First Degree Assault obtained by the County Police on September 25, 2020.

According to the warrant, on September 20^th, police responded to the 6800 block of Beacon Place in Riverdale, MD, for a reported cutting that resulted in the victim being injured. Officers learned that Sanchez-Morales allegedly followed the victim and the witness home from a restaurant in Riverdale, MD. The victim and Sanchez-Morales became engaged in a physical altercation when Sanchez-Morales is alleged to have pulled out a sharp object and stabbed the victim multiple times. Sanchez-Morales fled the scene and the victim was transported to the hospital to receive treatment for their injuries.

 

On October 7^th, deputies went to 2400 block of Amherst Road in Hyattsville, MD. When deputies knocked on the door a female answered and advised that Sanchez-Morales was in the bedroom. Deputies served Sanchez-Morales the warrant, placed him into custody, and safely transported him to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD, without incident.  

 

Sanchez-Morales is also charged with Possession of a Dangerous Weapon with The Intent to Cause Injury.
