Pedestrian Bridge Near Equestrian Center Parking to the Courthouse will be Closing on September 30, 2022, for six months.

 

 

Attention: Pedestrian Bridge Connecting Equestrian Center Parking to the Courthouse Will Close Next Week

 

 

The Pedestrian bridge that parallels Water Street and connects the walkway between The Equestrian Center parking area to Judges Drive near the Courthouse in Upper Marlboro will be closed starting Friday, September 30, 2022.

 

The closure is expected to last for six months to allow the Department of Public Works and Transportation to repair corrosion in the critical support beams of the Pedestrian bridge.

 

The frequency of the Shuttle service from The Equestrian Center parking area will increase during the closure. The Shuttle will run in 8-to-10-minute intervals and maintain its regular stops at the Courthouse and County Administration Building (CAB) from 6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

Deputies Arrest Robbery Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Tanijah Evon Lee, on August 31, 2022, on a warrant for Robbery obtained by county police on July 30, 2022.

According to the warrant, on July 30, 2022, police responded for a reported robbery in the 3900 block of Suitland Road, in Suitland, MD. When police spoke with the victim, they learned that Lee came over to his residence with two other individuals while he was sleeping. When the victim heard noises and woke up, one of the suspects held him down. All the individuals fled the scene with the stolen property before police arrived. Through their investigation, detectives were able to identify Lee as one of the suspects.      

On August 31, 2022, deputies determined that Lee was located at an address in the 3200 block of 75th Avenue, in Hyattsville, MD. Upon arrival, deputies were able to identify Lee, she was then served with the warrant, placed into custody, and safely transported to detectives at the Prince George’s County Police Department without incident.   

Lee is also charged with 2 counts of Conspire-Robbery, Theft of $1,500 to Under $25,000, and 2 counts of Conspire-Theft $1,500 to Under $25,000.
