Office of the Sheriff Remembers “Fallen Heroes”

The Prince George’s County Deputy Sheriff’s Association (DSA) held a memorial service today to remember Sergeant James Arnaud and DFC Elizabeth Magruder, who died in the line of duty on August 29, 2002.

DSA President William Milam was joined by Sheriff Melvin C. High as they welcomed family members of Deputies Arnaud and Magruder, and reminded them that their lives, their service and their sacrifice would never be forgotten.

The Office of the Sheriff memorial service is a part of “National Police Week” that was proclaimed by President John F. Kennedy in 1962 to honor and remember members of law enforcement who, like Sgt. Arnaud and DFC Magruder  lost their lives in the line of duty.
