Upper Marlboro, MD… The
Warrant / Fugitive Division has arrested Shamika Staggs on an arrest warrant
for Theft over $100,000 obtained by County Police on January 2, 2014.
According
to the warrant, Staggs acquired a falsified property deed and illegally rented
a vacant town home in the 10000 block of Keepsake Court in Upper Marlboro, MD. The
warrant further states that Staggs sold the property to an investment group and
received over $195,000 as proceeds from the sale of the property.
Upon
receipt of the warrant, Warrant/Fugitive Deputies began an investigation into
Staggs’ whereabouts. On February 3, 2014, she was located and apprehended at a
residence in the 15000 block of Kennett Square Way in Brandywine, MD.
Staggs
was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s
County Department of Corrections. She is
also charged with Issuance of a False Document, False Entry in a Public Record,
and Forgery of Private Instruments and Documents.
Staggs’
arrest also closes an outstanding 2010 warrant for Fraud Conversion issued by
the Prince George’s County District Court.
