Upper Marlboro, MD…
The Warrant/Fugitive Division has reported the capture of Rashad Wright on an
arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by County Police
detectives.
According to the warrant, on June 22, 2013 Wright and two other males were sitting inside of a parked vehicle in the 1200 block of Elfin Avenue in Capitol Heights, MD when an argument ensued between Wright and one of the men in the car. Following the argument, Wright allegedly produced a pocket knife and stabbed the victim in his neck and back when the victim attempted to exit the vehicle. Wright then fled on foot prior to officers’ arrival.
Deputies
investigating Wright’s whereabouts determined that he may have fled to the
state of Georgia. With assistance from the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force,
Wright was located at a residence in Byron, Georgia where he refused to open
the door for officers. Access to the
home was granted by the home owner and Wright was eventually found hiding in a bedroom.
He was taken into custody without further incident and transported to the
Houston County Detention Center where he will await extradition to Prince
George’s County.
Wright
is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First Degree Assault,
