1st Degree Assault Suspect Arrested

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Surveillance Team (FAST) reported the arrest of Imran Edward of Mount Rainier, MD on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault that was obtained by County Police on August 16, 2014.

According to the warrant, on May 27, 2014, at an apartment building in the 6800 block of Red Top Road in Hyattsville, MD Edward is alleged to have approached the victim, a person with whom he was acquainted and they became engaged in an argument. The warrant indicates that Edward retrieved a rifle from a nearby laundry room which he pointed at the victim. The warrant further states that Edward struck the victim from behind, injuring his head and back.  The victim was transported to MedStar Washington Hospital Center where he was treated.

Deputies’ investigations led them to believe that Edward was at an address in the 4200 block of Eastern Avenue in Mount Rainier, MD. The FAST Deputies went to the location where they found Edward. He was taken into custody and transported to Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Hyattsville, MD without incident.

Edward is also being charged with Firearm use during a Felonious Violent Crime and Assault 2nd Degree.

Attempted 1st Degree Murder Suspect Arrested

Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George's County Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/ Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Quanzion Bembo-Wilson of Temple Hills, MD on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder that was obtained by County Police on August 24, 2014.

According to the warrant, on August 23, 2014, Bembo-Wilson got into a verbal altercation with two people while waiting in line at a store located in the 4000 block of Silver Hill Road in Suitland, MD. The warrant further states that while the two people were leaving the store and headed back to their vehicle, Bembo-Wilson is alleged to have produced a handgun from his waistband and fired several rounds at one of the victims who hid behind the vehicle for cover. The warrant goes on to say that Bembo-Wilson then fired inside of the vehicle which struck one of the victims in the head.

Upon receipt of the warrant, Deputies learned that Bembo-Wilson was on probation and decided to attempt to capture him when he checked in at the Parole and Probation Division in Temple Hills, MD.  Warrant/ Fugitive Deputies along with the Prince George’s County Police Gang Unit set up surveillance and observed Bembo-Wilson walking into the Temple Hills location; he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the County Police Criminal Investigation Division for processing.

Bembo-Wilson is also charged with two additional counts of Attempted 1st Degree Murder and Firearm Use during a Felonious Violent Crime.

Attempted 1st Degree Murder Suspect Arrested During Child Support Hearing


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff’s Court Services Division reported the arrest of Damon Palmer of Washington D.C. yesterday for Attempted First Degree Murder after the County Police Department notified Court Services Deputies of the possibility that Palmer could be in a Circuit Court courtroom for a child support case. Upon confirmation of the warrant obtained by County Police on June 20, 2014, Deputies responded to the courtroom where they positively identified Palmer and arrested him.  

According to the detective’s narrative in the warrant, on June 16, 2014, Palmer confronted another male in the 4000 block of Murdock Street in Temple Hills, MD and “…accused him of messing with his girlfriend.” The verbal dispute turned physical prior to Palmer leaving the location. The warrant further states, that later that afternoon Palmer returned to the Murdock Street address with a handgun and fired several shots in the victim’s direction as he answered a knock at his door.  

“This is simply more evidence that our partnership with other law enforcement partners is critical in the fight against crime. And, the calm and responsive reaction of the courtroom personnel resulted in a safe arrest,” said Lieutenant Colonel Mark Roccapriore, Bureau Chief, Court Services.

Palmer was taken into custody in the courtroom without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections. He is also charged with First Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Attempted Second Degree Murder and First Degree Assault.

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Assault Suspect

 
Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Surveillance Team (FAST) reported the arrest of Alfred Davis Jr. of Hyattsville, MD on an arrest warrant for First Degree Assault that was obtained by County Police on July 17, 2014.
                                                                                                            
Davis is alleged to have assaulted a male victim at the intersection of Eastern Ave. and Chillum Rd. in Hyattsville, MD. According to the warrant, Davis and a male victim were involved in a verbal altercation over the telephone. Davis then came to the victim’s location where the altercation escalated and became physical. During the physical altercation Davis allegedly produced a pocket knife and cut the victim on the stomach and shoulder.   

Upon receipt of the warrant, Deputies began an investigation of Davis’ whereabouts. On July 29, 2014 Davis was taken into custody without incident after he was located at a residence in the 5000 block of Riggs Rd. in Hyattsville, MD. He was transported to District 1 in Hyattsville, MD for processing.

Davis is also charged with Assault Second Degree and Dangerous Weapon.

First Degree Burglary Suspect Arrested in West Virginia; Two Warrants Closed

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division’s Fugitive Apprehension Surveillance Team (FAST) reported the arrest of Cashmere Bates of Upper Marlboro, MD on two arrest warrants for First Degree Burglary, both obtained by the Prince George’s County Police Department on June 27, 2014.

According to the warrants, in April 2014, Bates broke into a home in the 10000 block of King Richard Place in Upper Marlboro, MD through a side window and stole property valued at $2,800 and caused damage to the exterior of the residence.

In May 2014, Bates is alleged to have broken into a residence in the 10000 block of Rhodenda Place in Upper Marlboro, MD and taken a Sony PlayStation 4 and several games valued at $600.

Upon receiving both warrants, FAST Deputies initiated an investigation into Bates’ whereabouts. After exhausting several leads, Deputies traced Bates to a West Virginia address where he was staying with an associate, Daniel McDonald, who also had an open warrant through Prince George’s County for First Degree Assault. 
On August 12th, McDonald allowed Deputies and members of the West Virginia State Police into his residence where he was taken into custody without incident. Bates was located hiding in a bedroom. He was taken into custody without incident.

Both McDonald and Bates were transported to the WV State Police Barracks and are awaiting extradition to Prince George’s County, MD.

Bates is also charged with Malicious Destruction of Property, Theft: $1,000 to under $10,000, and two counts of Theft: Less than $1,000.

Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest Attempted Murder Suspect

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Fugitive Apprehension Surveillance Team (FAST) reported the arrest of Lewis James of Forestville, MD on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder that was obtained by County Police on July 3, 2014.
                                                        
James is alleged to have assaulted a male victim at a residence in the 6000 block of Surrey Square Lane in Forestville, MD. According to the warrant James and a male victim (who is his uncle) were involved in a verbal altercation which became physical. During the physical altercation James allegedly produced a pocket knife and cut the victim in the stomach area before fleeing the scene.   

Upon receipt of the warrant the FAST Deputies began an investigation of James’ whereabouts. During their investigation contact was made with James who agreed to turn himself in. On July 25, 2014, FAST received confirmation that James turned himself in to the Prince George's County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro, MD.

James is also charged with Attempted Murder Second Degree, Assault First Degree, Assault Second Degree, Dangerous Weapon, and Reckless Endangerment.

15 Child Support Warrants Closed after Mini Sweep

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff’s Child Support Enforcement Division conducted an overnight warrant sweep on August 6th.

The sweep was comprised of three teams of Deputies who made 60 attempts to locate individuals with outstanding child support warrants. The operation resulted in 14 arrests to close 15 warrants, which represented child support arrearages of over $227,000.00.

According to Lieutenant Joyce Bowers, Commander of the Child Support Enforcement Division the mini sweep’s success was made possible because of the assistance received from Deputies of the Domestic Violence Intervention Division, Civil/ Landlord & Tenant Division and Warrants and Fugitive Division.

 “Child Support payments are enormously important for the custodial parent to assure the care and wellbeing of children; nothing is more important.” said Lieutenant Bowers. “We couldn’t have been more pleased about the arrest of a defendant with arrearages of over $99,000.00 due in child support. This capture allows the custodial parent to begin the process of collecting monies to support the children involved.”

Sheriff Deputies Arrest Robbery Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD… The Prince George’s County Office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Adelo Rojas of Cheverly, MD on July 24, 2014 on an arrest warrant for Robbery that was obtained by County Police on July 21, 2014.

According to the warrant, Rojas and a co-defendant are alleged to have robbed two male victims in the 9300 block of Wyatt Dr. in Lanham, MD. The warrant further states that during the robbery Rojas took a pair of shoes, a cell phone and money from one of the victims, valued at $1,050.00. The two are also alleged to have punched and kicked both victims. Rojas’s co-defendant was arrested earlier by county police.  

Deputies’ investigation led them to believe Rojas was at a residence in the 11000 block of Old Baltimore Pike in Beltsville, MD. On July 22, 2014, Deputies took Rojas into custody without incident at the aforementioned address. He was taken to the Prince George's County Police District II’s Robbery Suppression Team.

He was also charged with Theft $1,000.00 to under $10,000.00, and two counts of Second Degree Assault.
