Armed Carjacking Suspect Arrested
Sheriff’s deputies arrested Michael Arrington Jr. of Capitol Heights on an arrest warrant for Armed Carjacking that was obtained by County Police on February 2, 2016.
According to the warrant, on December 11th, 2015 in the 3000 block of Parkway Terrace Drive in Suitland, MD, Arrington and another suspect are alleged to have approached a male victim while he organized items in the trunk of his vehicle with the engine running; they pointed a handgun at him and yelled “Put your hands up.” The frightened victim ran away from his vehicle as Arrington and the other male suspect drove away in the victim’s vehicle.
Deputies were able to locate Arrington at a residence in the 1000 block of Brooks Drive in Capitol Heights, MD, where he was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Prince George’s County Department of Corrections.
Arrington is also charged with Carjacking, Firearm Use/ Felony Violent Crime, Handgun on Person, First and Second Degree Assault and Theft to 10,000 to 100,000.
First Degree Assault Indictment Suspect Arrested
The Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Philander Thompson on an indictment for First Degree Assault. The indictment was issued by the Circuit Court of Prince George's County on February 11, 2016.
Warrant/Fugitive Division Deputies investigating Thompson whereabouts determined that he was staying at an address in the 4000 block of 4th Street in Southeast DC. On February 25, assisted by United States Marshal Task Force Officers, and Sheriff’s deputies went to the location and were allowed entry by his girlfriend where they found Thompson. He was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Metropolitan Police Department 7th District station in Washington, DC, for processing and await extradition back to Prince George’s County, Md.
Thompson is also charged with Second Degree Assault, and Dangerous Weapon Openly with Intent Injure.
