Warrant/Fugitive Division Felony Arrest Report #PGSO

Upper Marlboro, MD…The Sheriff’s Office Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the following felony arrests:

Attempted First Degree Murder Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s Deputies arrested Alton Jordan of Silver Spring, MD, who was wanted on an arrest warrant for Attempted First Degree Murder obtained by County Police on August 6, 2016.

According to the warrant, on August 6, in the 8000 block of Navahoe Drive, Silver Spring, MD, Jordan attended a party with friends. During the party, Jordan was alleged to have sexually assaulted a female victim. When the victim resisted Jordan became upset and later grabbed a piece of wood and attempted to hit the victim. Bystanders intervened and stopped Jordan from assaulting the victim. Witnesses indicated Jordan left the party, returned with a loaded weapon and fired at two victims but missed. Witnesses also said that Jordan said he wanted to kill the victim because she disrespected him after which he fled the scene.

On August 8th, after further investigation, Sheriff Deputies located Jordan at the Takoma Park Police Department where he came to turn himself in. Deputies responded to the station where he was placed into custody and transported to Prince George’s County Department of Corrections in Upper Marlboro for processing.

Jordan is also charged with Attempted Second Degree Murder, First and Second Degree Assault, Reckless Endangerment, Handgun in Person, and Firearm Use/Felony Violent Crime.

First Degree Arson Suspect Arrested

Sheriff’s deputies arrested Emanuel Purdie of Suitland, MD on an arrest warrant for First Degree Arson obtained by County Police Department on August 2, 2016.

According to the warrant, on August 1, 2016, in the 3900 block of Suitland Road in Suitland, MD, Purdie set fire to multiple sections inside a home, causing approximately $1000,00 of property damage to the residence. The warrant also states that the Fire Department’s investigaton determined that Purdie was seen going in and out of the bedroom window of the building.

Upon receipt of the warrant on August 5th, Deputies’ investigation determined that Purdie could be located at the Prince George’s County Hospital where he was taken into custody and transported to the Prince George’s County Correctional facility in Hyattsville for processing.

Purdie is are also charged with Second Degree Arson, Malicious Burning First Degree and Malicious Destruction of property of at least 1,000.00 dollars.
