Sheriff’s Deputies Arrest First Degree Rape Suspect


Upper Marlboro, MD… The office of the Sheriff’s Warrant/Fugitive Division reported the arrest of Shirlante James Jackson on January 24, 2020 on a warrant for First Degree Rape obtained by police on January 24, 2020.

According to the warrant on October 11, 2019 a victim who is a minor disclosed that Jackson had allegedly engaged her in sexual intercourse at her resident in Suitland Maryland.

On January 31, 2020, Deputies’ investigation led them to an address in the 500 block of Limerick Way, in Hyattsville, MD. Upon arrival deputies spoke with Jacksons mother who stated he does not live there; however, she will try to locate him. Short time later Jackson turned himself into custody without incident.  Deputies placed him into custody, served the warrant, and safely transported to CID Sexual Assault Unit in Landover, MD.

Jackson is also charged with 3 counts of Rape, Third Degree Sex offense, Third Degree Burglary and Second-Degree Assault.
